About Stephin Merritt's voice
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, most commonly known for his distinctive bass voice. He has been the songwriter and lead singer of bands including the Magnetic Fields, the Gothic Archies, and Future Bible Heroes. He has contributed to the composition of numerous musical theatre stage productions, as well as the music and lyrics to a stage adaptation of Coraline and the score for the silent film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
